Case against homosexuality - It goes against creation

This has to be one of the most contested topics in our society today. The biblical view is extremely clear: homosexuality is an abomination (Leviticus 18:22), it is shameful and vile (Romans 1: 26-27), homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9), those that practice it are called ungodly and sinners (1 Timothy 1:9). The plain reading of these texts is the right one. Homosexual acts are sinful and a disgrace in the sight of God.

Humanity is in rebellion and they come up with many excuse to engage is sinful acts. The 'LGBT mafia' have an excuses track which I will address here; mostly their moral and biological positions. I also want to consider the risks involved when engaging in homosexual sex.

 

I will also preface my remarks with this statement which proposes my position. The homosexual act itself is an abomination and should not be condoned by our society. People who commit such acts should face a fine or even prison. Equally, heterosexual sex outside of marriage is an abomination and should be punished with a fine or imprisonment. Both are punishable in line with rape or paedophilia. For now, I will solely be scrutinising homosexual conduct.

Those who commit homosexual acts want to live by their own moral standards. The problem with venturing down a morally relativistic avenue is, who draws the line? How far down this path of destruction do we go? There is a growing community that want to legalise paedophilia. Some people want to engage in bestiality. Others think that gang rape is ok. Another wants to commit incest. Still another thinks it is ok to kill someone. I reiterate, who draws the line? The state (politicians) certainly cannot be trusted to define and/or determine morality. This is why we must have an absolute standard of righteousness and morality, which can only be from God. Every other standard is flawed and will lead to death. God has defined His standard, His precepts, we have these recorded in The Bible. Humans defining morality and righteousness is a very slippery slope, as I have alluded to. 

 

As a society we must submit to God's standard. As a result of this, it is my conviction that homosexual acts should be outlawed. The things we allow in law are very important and it affects everyone. The fact that we have legalised gay marriage is a disgrace. Heterosexual monogamous marriage (which is clearly laid out in the Bible) gets lost in a cacophony of differing sounds and opinions. This leads to a confused and lost generation. We need clarity, the only thing we should be condoning is heterosexual marriage or singleness.

A biological point I want to raise is that it goes against the created order. This is obvious to everyone. It takes a man and a woman to conceive a child. There is a reason why we categorise male and female electric items; one fits into the other. Similarly, a man and a woman just fit together, it works. Therefore, one can conclude that it is unnatural for a man to lie with a man, and likewise, it is unnatural for a woman to lie with a woman.

Some people say that they are born homosexual. The homosexual gene is a myth. It is absolutely not the case that people are born gay. It makes no sense, how would this 'homosexual gene' be passed on?! Of course, it can't be passed on because a man and a woman have to come together in sexual union to conceive. It follows that the man and woman who came together are not homosexual by the very fact that they came together. A homosexual gene does not exist, you cannot be born gay.

Another thing to consider is the diseases people contract from homosexual acts. Homosexual men are at extreme risk of catching HIV and are not allowed to give blood to the NHS because of the danger associated with their endeavours. Another danger for homosexual men is getting haemorrhoids (piles) which cause itching and bleeding. One engaging in these acts can also get rectum tears which can lead to a fistula. To summarise, the anal passage is not designed to receive. Those that engage in anal sex get the penalty due them (Romans 1).

 

If you are reading this and are currently engaging in homosexual acts then you need to repent. You have transgressed the law of God and at present you are on the broad road to destruction. The good news is that Jesus has payed the penalty, which is death, for those who believe in him. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God's righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus (Romans 3).

In closing, we all have a choice to engage in any type of sexual activity outside of heterosexual monogamous marriage. If we choose to engage in these other sexual engagements, we are sinning. Take heart, we are all born sinners (Psalm 51:5) but God forgives anyone who believes in His Son, Jesus Christ.
